Chiropractic “done by hand”.

With the exception of an Activator tool for those who cannot tolerate diversified adjustments, and a Thumper Massager that patients love, Dr. Caralina knows that the best way to help the body is via physical contact. Not a device.

Dr. Caralina assesses joint alignment by palpating the spine and joint motions, and the muscles. She is not excited about the use of electrical machines or contraptions to assess and treat: and her skillset: feeling the motion of the joints, feeling the knots in the muscles, adhesions and restrictions in the fascia, and even to sense energy blockages, tension, emotions and stress in the whole system - with over 39 years experience: her skills are the highest level: she knows.

Patients are treated one at a time in her lovely, cozy office.  Each session is different, depending on the care needed, per visit. Her range of experience is tailored to the specific needs of each patient.  For the sensitive and traumatized patient, she understands the importance of gentle care. Injuries, auto collisions, chronic fatigue, stress, and overwrought nervous systems respond well to her style. She takes it in a step-by-step flow tailored just for the individual.  Her lifetime of continuing inner work makes this work possible. Simultaneously, she has a full skillset for those who regularly work their bodies hard and need a more direct approach. Those with chronic and acute pain and dysfunction from lots of physical work love her style, and find it essential for increased quality of life - especially as they head into the less-than-youthful years. In order to make life work in ease and harmony, we need balance. And we need to heal. Finding the right care to balance it all out can be a challenge. Her intention is to help provide that healing balance.

Types of Chiropractic Adjustments Used:

Diversified: The “crunchy” type: very common & traditional

Activator: Used for those who require & prefer minimal joint motion & for those who have disc injuries, advanced arthritis, etc. It is low force.

Drop: Sections in the chiropractic adjustment table are modified for optimal movement and are used for those who do not like to and who should not lie on their side for low back adjustments.

Blocking: Placed underneath the Sacro-iliac joints and low back for those who respond to a more passive approach

CranioSacral: Some patients require a most gentle slow approach & respond exceedingly well with this unwinding, gentle technique.

Chiropractic adjustments also include:

Oscillating Somatic Therapy. Unique to Dr. Caralina, OST is used prior to the adjustment as a way to tune into the body & to discover and ease muscle tension. This gentle, rocking motion stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system so that the patient automatically starts to relax, and physical and emotional stress begin to melt away.

Longer sessions include : Trigger Point Therapy - Soft Tissue Therapy. Dr. Caralina's sessions may include principles of massage therapy. This soft tissue work increases blood flow to the muscles, reduces spasms, softens tension, relieves pain, breaks adhesions and prepares the body to be accept the renewed alignment.

…..more than an adjustment.
